DAY HUNDRED FIFTY - a day in the life

Spent the night on the Ward’s couch so I could be with Ella as the rest of the family took off early for all things school. Leah, whose usual week of teaching consists normally of Mondays and Tuesdays, was still needed to step in for the co-worker still out on paternity leave. No crying today – protesting, yes – as mommy and daddy were leaving – but no out and out ‘I think I’m going to die!’ stuff. That was a major improvement!

Ella and I watched our fair share of tellie today. It’s all the fault of that darned CBeeBies channel – you just can’t turn it off! One thing I really appreciate about BBC kids’ programming is that a majority of the individual shows are on for all of 10 minutes – just about a perfect length of time for a growing mind and attention span.

Not much to report – we did the normal eat, sleep, and veg kind of things – though I was able to get some Christmas cards done while Ella had herself a tranquil sleep. (Had the hardest time getting her to agree to that nap. I asked her first, downstairs, if she was ready for nite-nite. ‘No!’ Upstairs I tried to get her to lie down, but she insisted that upright was the best way for avoiding the inevitable. Eventually Mr. Sandman won out.)
